updates, and a featured dog: April-GBNF

Sorry for the delay between posts; it’s been busy here and I’ve been out of commission with health problems.

The biggest news is that pupsicle season is well underway, and that they can be found at Locopops locations, and for the Hillsborough residents, they will be sold at Matthew’s chocolates (107 N. Churton St). Two of the biggest fundraisers for APS are coming up- Tails at Twilight Gala (a chance for folks to dress up and raise money) and Walk for the Animals. You can find more info at the right side column of this blog.

We also have more dogs at the shelter to feature…despite high number of adoptions, we still receive a large number of dogs and cats and other animals. One of my recent favorites is a boxer mix named April. She’s an easygoing sweetie-pie who loves to be with you and enjoys a good sunny walk. It seems that the sun is a perfectly good excuse for her to roll around in grass and ask for bellyrubs– and she asks for long, luxurious ones as well.
April is ready for a bellyrub!

You can tell how much she enjoys the bellyrubs from the blissful expression on her face:
Blissed out April
She eventually gets sleepy and even relaxed… she’d probably be a very good couch dog, keeping you company while you read or listen to music. But she’s not just simply inactive- she does enjoy a good game of fetch and chase with tennis balls, and enjoys the company of other dogs, but mostly, she’d love to be with you and have a home of her own.

If you’re interested, see her in Kennel 42.
