Featured Dog: Dixie – GBNF

Dixie looking at me skeptically

Dixie is one of those dogs that hangs back a bit, because she’s a little shy and not so confident about her surroundings. She’s still learning how to trust people by asking them if it’s okay, and with gentle encouragement, she comes out of her shell bit by bit.

glossy coat

She’s still cautious here, but she’s enjoying being petted and sunning herself.

Dixie likes to be snuggled (gently)

She’s about three years old, a corgi/black tan mix, and is very sweet and calm and past the puppy stage (she’s even housebroken, if I recall correctly). And she loves it when people are kind to her and offer her rubs and scratches.

Dixie in her element

wonderful brown eyes

Just look at those wonderfully warm brown eyes. Due to her upbringing she is not comfortable around other dogs, and may be best as an only dog, but if you can find it in your heart to care for this wonderful girl and help her shine, come visit her in Kennel 25. She is beautiful! I hope that someone will give her another chance by adopting her. I have 3 I have adopted already or I would love to take her.
