Puppy Friday: Malia – ADOPTED!

Who’s this pretty girl with just three colors- pink, white, and black (reminds me of neapolitan ice cream)? That would be Malia, an affectionate 4-month old puppy. She’s a samoyed mix, which means she’ll be very soft and fluffy for a long time (it would also mean shaving of her fur every summer- Samoyeds were originally bred to herd and work in Siberia!).

She’s nicely confident, eager to learn, and really loves to play (we played with a stuffed toy and with a towel and then made up our own games!). She’s also excellent with other dogs so if you are looking for a fun and adorable playmate, she’s your girl!

Also, Malia has a great personality- she was always smiling for the photos, and she is very affectionate and curious about what you’re doing. She likes attention, but isn’t very demanding for it- I can see her maturing nicely to a dog who’s content to be at your side.

If you’re considering Malia, consider meeting her in Kennel 8. For more information, e-mail doginfo@apsofdurham.org or leave a comment below.
