I will confess something: that I love lapdogs, especially since my own dog is most definitely not a lapdog. I’m very partial to them at the shelter, and Dahlia is one prime lapdog.
She loves laps of all shapes and sizes, and she lies on them very quietly, unless she finds out that you are also an equally good petter and ear-scratcher. In that case, she will point her wet nose and mouth towards you and lick your face if, by any chance, you stop petting or scratching her. I would not be surprised if she ended up falling asleep on your lap- she yawned several times while lying on my lap- and I caught some of the yawns on-camera.
That’s how relaxed she is!
She also makes hilarious faces and doesn’t understand why you’re laughing, but will give you kisses anyway. That’s how sweet she is.
So the details: she’s about 2 years old (past the crazy puppy stage, but not too old to go to obedience school), and is relatively calm. She’s very wiggly when you first meet her, but calms down nicely and walks beautifully (especially after she’s had her lap-time with you). She’s playful with her toys, but she would prefer politer dogs or be an only dog (well, be the only lapdog, really) in the household.
