Featured Dog: Morley- ADOPTED!

Morley

Morley is one of those dogs that seems very shy at first, but you realize very soon that Morley is just a name for a living being that is filled with so much love, that it overcomes his fear. He’s a black lab mix about a year old, but has a lot of playful energy. He hasn’t met a dog or person he hasn’t loved, and yet, when he’s with you, he’s very focused and trainable (he already does a perfect sit). To me, he’s pretty much perfect, and whoever adopts him will be very, very lucky.

If you like a dog who is active, loves balls, loves to play with other dogs, but is not enormous, Morley is your guy. He’s not going to be very big – more like around 40 lbs or so (he’s more or less fullgrown).

Some examples of his athleticism (he loves fetching tennis balls, very much the labrador retriever he is)

Also, he really perks up with other dogs- he’d be a great playmate for your dog, and he’d be more than happy to be the social butterfly at the dog park.

Loretta & Morley
Morley is the one standing. His friend Loretta (lying down) has been adopted.

As you can tell, Morley is very tolerant. In this photo and the one below, Morley is the one sitting.

Morley is the one on right in this photo and the one below.

Looks like Loretta is a little fast for him 🙂 Morley is pretty laid, back though, and doesn’t seem to mind.

You can view Morley better through these videos of him and Loretta playing:

But wait, I mentioned that Morley is full of love, and I have the photos to prove it! He’s very affectionate- he loves to give kisses, and he practically melts into a puddle when you pet him. In fact, he thinks it’s the greatest thing in the world to be loved. So if he comes up to you and you pet him, be prepared to have him on your lap for a long, long time. 🙂

If you’d like to visit Morley, please see him in Kennel 21 and ask to see him outside- he does much better outside than inside. For more information on Morley, please contact doginfo@apsofdurham.org or leave a comment below.
