Featured Dog: Winnie – ADOPTED!

Winnie has to be the happiest-looking dog on photos. That’s because she had just finished a delightful play session, and was about to start another!

She is still learning ‘sit’ but seems to have almost gotten it. She understands, though, that she’s supposed to pay attention when there’s a treat or toy on offer. So I can safely say she is food motivated and very trainable!

We’re not sure how old Winnie is- I’d guess around a year old- and she has a bit of a skin problem around her neck, but it doesn’t seem to bother her. She looks like she may have a hound/mix in her.

As you can tell, Winnie LOVES to play. She knows fetch, but she’s also perfectly fine playing by herself if she needs to. She’s currently working on “letting go” of the toy so we can keep throwing it for her to catch. Because of her high energy, she’d probably love to be your running partner or go on long hikes.

We do not know yet how well she gets along with other dogs, but I’ll update you as soon as information becomes available. If you are interested in this special girl, please come visit her in Kennel 10.

Have you found out yet if Winnie gets along well with other dogs? We have a male chow/shepherd/lab mix, about 65 lbs., who is 12 y.o, and was our youngest of 4 dogs at one time but has been the only one for 2 years now, He’s still in great shape but I would love to get another dog before his health gets too bad,
