Featured Dog: Gilbert – ADOPTED!

May I introduce you to Gilbert, a very furry and fluffy red-haired chow/collie mix who’s about a year old? (I’m certain 50% of his body weight is fur.)

Gilbert is a little unsure about new noises, but he appreciates it when you try to make him feel better by rubbing his chest. Or ears. Or ribs. He’s got a lot of favorite scratch spots…

After a while, he starts to relax. He was also interested in another dog a few yards away- he gets along well with other dogs and would probably be a great second dog.

Gilbert was initially not very well trained on the leash, but within a few days he’s been doing fine on a harness and may graduate back to the leash itself. He was a perfect gentleman during our walk. I’d say it bodes very well for his future training.

In fact, Gilbert already knows ‘sit’ and does it beautifully.

Isn’t that a great focus?

If you are interested in Gilbert, please come see him in Kennel 15.
