This volunteer says I have to come out and introduce myself. She’s too comfy and obliging, so I’m not sure I want to.
What? I have to do this? Oh, all right, as long as I get a really good belly rub later. Promise? All right then. My name’s Ryder, and I’m about 5 months old even though I don’t really look like a puppy, and I’m a cross between a pit and a boxer. My handler says it’s more like I’m a cross between a dog and a pillow, but I don’t know what that means. She says it has something to do with how I tend to curl up against people and try to bury myself in them like a pillow. She’s mostly right, I think. People are fun! People are comfy! People give the best belly rubs ever! (By the way, did I mention that belly rubs are my absolute favorite?)
Other than people and belly rubs, I like chasing after balls and playing with toys. Actually there’s not much I don’t like– I’m very laid back that way. I like food treats and I’m very good at ‘sit’ but I’d much rather have my belly rubs.
I can do a ‘down’ too, though it’s been described more as a belly flop:
And this is me being very relaxed during a belly rub (that’s why I love them…they make me feel so good and relaxed):
There’s even a video of me enjoying a good belly rub. It’s here.
Anyway, if you think you would like to take me home, come see me at Kennel 23.
