Featured Dog: Arlo – ADOPTED!

Meet Arlo, a very cute and active year-old Pomerian/Papillon mix. His favorite activity is playing with toys, as you can see below. He understands the concept of ‘fetch’ most of the time, but he also likes to throw the toys in the air and herd them.

Afterwards, he is one very tired but happy boy!

Arlo

He also likes to gather the toys in one pile- I’ll take this to mean he’ll clean up after himself 😉

Arlo

Here he is making sure that toys are “okay.” (in his sense of “okay” – I think he’s making sure the squeakers all work or are dead.)

Arlo

Arlo is also food motivated, and is learning how to ‘sit.’ He is more toy motivated, though, so he would probably love activities such as flyball and agility.

Arlo

You wouldn’t know it from all the running around, but Arlo also loves to snuggle. He’s actually a very affectionate guy who does not mind being held, and will give you several chin kisses while sitting very comfortably in your arms.

Arlo

Arlo is truly a happy and happy-making guy, because he loves to smile and make sure you’re having fun, too.

Arlo

He gets along with other dogs, and would probably love the dog park.

I don’t know if it’s because of Arlo’s unique looks (he’s got the energy of a border collie/sheltie with the ears of a pekingnese? papillon? and a pomerian/pekingnese nose), but he makes some of the funniest expressions here.

Arlo

I believe this is literally “rolling off the floor laughing” (or ROFL). You know, when you’ve heard something so funny, you cannot stop laughing.

Arlo

He’s either clicking his tongue or going “LLLLLL” (laughing a lot). Isn’t he great that way?

If you think Arlo is the guy for you, please come visit him in Kennel 48. For more information on Arlo, please contact doginfo@apsofdurham.org or leave a comment below.
