Featured Dog: Gina – GBNF

This beautiful red dog is Gina, a year-oldish collie/A ustralian shepherd mix. She was recently surrendered so she was a little anxious during her walk, as if she wasn’t completely sure of herself or her surroundings.

Fortunately I found something that Gina immediately recognized as a safe and fun activity, and it set her at ease. It’s called a very good game of fetch, involving rather noisy squeaky toys and soft stuffings. 🙂

Naturally, Gina was thrilled and she had a big grin on her face the whole time.

As you can see in later photos, Gina already knows ‘sit’ and possibly ‘down.’ She is very energetic (though she has excellent self control on her walks- she won’t pull you!) and loves to run, so a daily exercise session or even agility/flyball training is a must.

When Gina is done with running/fetching/playing, she is one very tired but very happy girl. She’ll form a dog-rug (complete with frog-legs pose) on the floor.

I think she may be ready for a nap!

Gina is also very soft, and she does like to be petted, especially when she’s feeling confident.
