Featured Dog: Lloyd – ADOPTED!

Once upon a time I encountered this happy but mild-mannered fellow named Lloyd, a 1 1/2-2 yrs old Chihuahua mix. He had great leash manners and walked very nicely around the trail.

But I remembered what the volunteers wrote on the back of his sign, which was that he loves the exercise pen, and would run nonstop for 6 full minutes. He wasn’t walking at a particularly fast pace or pulling the leash, and looked somewhat older (past puppy stage), so I was wondering…

He knows ‘sit’ and was affectionate (he doesn’t mind being petted) and posed nicely for photos.

Then it was time to play, and WOW! For a little guy, Lloyd can run really fast!

He really, really loves it when you throw him balls. And given his amazing marathon-like running skills, I threw the balls over a hill, so he’d have to run up and then down.

It took a while before he got tired, but even then, he seemed indefatigable. (Btw, aren’t his ears cute in that photo above?)

So if you like a dog who is this energetic only about toys and mellow about everything else, Lloyd would be a wonderful choice.

Even better, Lloyd gets along with everyone- human and canine. This makes him a very ideal dog if you do a lot of socializing.

If you think Lloyd is the dog for you, please visit him in Kennel 46. For more information, please contact doginfo@apsofdurham.org or leave a comment below.

What is required to adopt Lloyd he is so cute? Is he a puppy? Is he a barker? Is he housetrained? How big will he get? What is the adoption fee for him?
