Featured Dog: Cassandra – ADOPTED!

Meet Cassandra, a 1- 1 1/2 years old pit/pointer mix.

She is very food motivated and already knows ‘sit.’ She would also love to know more, because after a couple of minutes, she got bored (and I mean that literally) of sitting and went to play with her toys 🙂

So, she probably would love to go to obedience school and also have a job to do!

Fortunately, her job would be fairly easy- all you’d have to do is provide stuffed toys now and then. She LOVES to play with toys.

She isn’t well-versed in fetch, but it doesn’t matter- she’ll throw the toy herself and attempt to catch it in the process (which is kind of hilarious to watch).

This is a very energetic dog- so Cassandra may be better suited for active person or families. She’d make a wonderful running partner and would love to go on all sorts of adventures.

Her enthusiasm, however, does not endear her to other dogs, but she could be more gentle to them after some time.  Mostly, she just needs lots of love, affection, treats, and daily exercise.

If you are interested in Cassandra, please come visit her in Kennel 19. For more information on Cassandra, please contact doginfo@apsofdurham.org or leave a comment below.

Just wanted to reply to this blog and let y’all know how excited I was to notice that she was adopted- I would’ve gone and gotten her myself if I had been able to do so! I saw the blog, previously, about her availability and FREAKED because she looks JUST like my amazing dog, Brynlee, of whom I adopted in Bryan, TX! I hadn’t seen any dog like him until I came across the pictures of Cassandra! I pray that she is just as happy and spoiled as Brynlee in her new home!
