Featured Dog: Phoebe – ADOPTED!

Phoebe

This happy girl is Phoebe, a 2-years old pit/pointer mix.

Phoebe

As you can see, Phoebe already knows ‘sit.’ She’s very food motivated, but isn’t pushy about getting treats all the time.

Phoebe

She is very good at this “looking solemn and dignified while waiting for a treat” thing.

Phoebe

Though from time to time she looks a little goofy. This is her “is this a treat I hear?” look.

Phoebe

One nice thing about Phoebe is that she is very gentle, which is amazing if you consider her rough history- she came into the shelter emaciated and neglected. She loves affection, but isn’t pushy about it, and is very trusting and social.

Phoebe

It’s very hard not to like Phoebe when she’s being goofy or has a big smile on her face.

Phoebe

She loves going outside for walks/training/play.

Phoebe

You see that little bit of goofy puppy there?

Phoebe

Though I don’t have photos to show for it, Phoebe also loves to be petted- she sometimes leans into you and knows to hold still while being petted.

Phoebe

In short, Phoebe is a charming, mellow dog and would be good for those who are looking for a very nice dog without the problems of puppyhood.

Phoebe

Oh, that’s not all. She gets along very well with other dogs and would make a great canine companion (though she would not mind getting all the attention to herself :).

Phoebe

I’ll leave you with this silly photo of Phoebe (can you tell how much she enjoyed her session in the exercise pen?):

Phoebe is a fabulous dog. I met her at a PetSmart event with my foster dog Hardy, and she was his favorite because she was so friendly and nice. And I loved her too!
