Featured Dog: Mandy – GBNF

Mandy

This beautiful girl is Mandy, a year old hound/pit mix.

Mandy

To be honest, Mandy does not give a good impression when you first visit her in her kennel. I was afraid she’d be hyperactive, but to my surprise, she turned out to be one of the most manageable dogs I’ve ever met. In the end I was saying “Who’s a good girl? You are!” over and over.

Mandy

Mandy is very food and toy attentive, and she will sit for both.

Mandy

She plays an excellent game of fetch, and she has no problem exchanging food for treats (for example, she must drop the toy in order to get a treat).

Mandy

She also knows what is expected of her and doesn’t jump on you impolitely or beg persistently for treats- she knows how to sit still.

Mandy

We must’ve played fetch for 10-15 uninterrupted minutes, and while Mandy was slowing down a bit, she still was willing to play.  She’s really her happiest when she’s running around and chasing toys, and bringing them to you to get a delicious food reward.

Here’s many examples of her athleticism:
