This happy girl is Gertrude, a 18 months old blue tick coonhound. All you really need to know about her is that her expressions in these photos are fairly accurate representation of her personality!
For example, she’s very goofy. Look at these ears!
She’s also very happy- her favorite activity is playing with toys. She loves fetch, playing by herself, chasing balls, you name it.
I actually cannot remember if she was food motivated (there isn’t a single picture of her sitting) but I do remember very clearly that she is extremely toy motivated.
As a matter of fact, if you don’t throw the toy fast enough for her, Gertrude will let you know.
Silly girl, I’m going to throw the toy anyway. Patience, Gertrude, patience…
And there she goes! Doesn’t she look graceful when she brings the toy back?
Squeak squeak squeak. We played a game of fetch for a while.
Then Gertrude decided she was done, and laid down. (By the way, Gertrude is excellent with other dogs- the one in the background really wanted to join in the fun!).
“I think I’m going to squeak over here, thanks.”
Yup, she’s still very goofy. I couldn’t take photos, but she’s actually very affectionate- she loves to be petted and will lean on you.
