Featured Dog: Arabella – ADOPTED!

Arabella

This happy girl is Arabella, a 1- 1 1/2 years old German Shepherd mix.

Arabella

She already knows how to sit, and other volunteers report that she knows other commands (down, roll, maybe more…). It’s always nice to meet a dog who’s “pre-trained” though I don’t think Arabella would mind doing some more training, given how trainable she is.

Arabella

You’d never guess from the photos that Arabella wasn’t enthusiastic about walking, but then again, it was raining. Truth be told, I don’t think she’s at her best when walking, because she’s still a little unsure of her surroundings, but that should change with a steady routine.

When I took Arabella to exercise pen, though, she changed into a completely different dog! She romped, played, tossed, jumped, and other acrobatic feats that I’m not sure there are names for… anyway, she was very happy and pleased with the assortment of toys. She also enjoyed a short game of fetch and seemed happier.

So if you do see Arabella, please ask to see her in exercise pen- it does wonders for her confidence!

This is her “what do you  mean, we have to stop playing and go?” face. 🙂
